Hiring a web designer can seem totally unnecessary when there’s so many DIY tutorial out there that show you how to set up your website… But sometimes, you’ll just need a designer who knows more than you. If you don’t know where you stand at the moment, read on! Maybe this will help you make the right decision.
1. You just can’t get your website to work
If you’ve been trying to connect your domain name to your hosting, and it just doesn’t work or any kind of other technical problems that keep you from launching your website, then you need to hire somebody who can fix that for you. If you’re just starting out, you don’t have to break the bank either: I offer hourly services for this kind of work. Just send me a quick email to know my current rate and I’ll get your website online and bug-free as soon as possible.
2. You never share your website with anybody
If you ever want to run a successful business or blog, you can’t do that while hiding your website in a dark corner. It needs to shine for you, and you have to be proud of it. If you aren’t, it means it’s time to hire somebody to fix it up for you. Sometimes, you have to accept that you just can’t DIY everything. Again, you don’t have to get a loan to have a website you like. Check out the packages I offer at the moment!
3. You need a function you just don’t know how to install
Maybe you’ve managed to DIY your website, and you’re proud of what you accomplished, but there are some technical things you just can’t do… If you want to install an e-commerce store, for example, but just don’t know how to deal with Woocommerce, or sell courses, or add a forum. These features can make your business skyrocket, but you’ll need someone to help you implement them.
4. You want a more professional look
As a business or a blogger, once you start getting traffic and traction, you might want to upgrade your website and your brand. It’s always a good idea to get a more professional look to be taken seriously. Nothing hurts more a business than an unprofessional looking website. You might also want the uniqueness that a simple theme doesn’t offer, which is something a web designer can totally give you.
5. Your website just doesn’t seem to be converting
If you have a good amount of traffic, but can’t seem to make people come back to your website, subscribe to your mailing list or buy your product, there might be something you’re doing wrong that a web designer can help you with. We have a lot of experience building websites and know what works and what doesn’t. It doesn’t mean you have to change your whole branding, but you might need to consider different colors or layouts.
6. You don’t even know how to get started
Not everybody is tech savvy, and that’s okay. Some people are good at growing flowers; I’m not. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Building a website might be one of yours. If it is, hiring a web designer can save you a headache and tears while trying to figure out WordPress, hosting and FTP. All of those things have a very steep learning curve and, at that point, outsourcing is a good idea.
7. You’ll lose more money trying to figure it out than a web designer actually costs
If you business is booming and you just don’t have the time to fix your website or update it, that’s something a web designer can definitely do for you! And if you’re making a good chunk of money, there is no point spending hours trying to figure it out on your own: you’re losing precious money-making time! A web designer knows what she’s doing and will get the job done probably a lot faster than you could… for less than the money you’d lose Googling all those issues yourself.
