Want more time doing what you love? Being with the people that matter to you? Then make your website work for you. There are so many things that are possible nowadays, you just have to know about them…
So let me introduce three of my favorite tricks you can do with WordPress that will save you a ton of time!
1) Send your posts to social medias after you publish them
Isn’t there nothing more annoying than scheduling and posting on social media? If you want to drive traffic to your website or blog, you’re probably on at least two, if not more, social medias. What if there was a way to automatically post on all your platforms without you having to lift a finger?
Yep, it’s possible!
All you need is an account on Zapier and you’re good to go 🙂
Use the following recipe to set up your social media and connect them to your WordPress blog.
Make sure this doesn’t interfere with your social media strategy, though. If you automate all of your social media, you might end up with no engagement at all on those platforms since you’re not really interacting yourself. I’ve personally used it to publish new posts, but I also posted other content and interacted with my followers!
2) Back up all your posts to Google Drive
Scared of losing all your content? It’s okay, I’ve got your back 🙂 Use Zapier again, but this time connect your WordPress account to your Drive account using this sweet recipe.
All your posts will be converted into text files and imported to your Google Drive so you always have them in a second location. If you’d like to back up your whole website, plugins and theme files included, look into VaultPress (paid) if you have a budget or Updraft Plus (free) if you just want something that does the job!
Trust me, if you don’t have any kind of backup at the moment, you want to set something up! Even if your host says they’re running a daily backup for you, they aren’t always super reliable. Trust no one but yourself!
3) Convert your Mailchimp newsletters into WordPress posts
Do you write killer emails that your mailing list loves? Why not reuse them as blog posts! If you’ve been copying/pasting everything in the past, it’s time to use this Mailchimp to WordPress recipe and change things up a bit!
Setting up all these recipes with Zapier won’t cost you a thing (up to 5 recipes) and can be done within a couple of hours! Do you know how much time you can save in the future?
I believe that entrepreneurs and bloggers need to start working smarter instead of harder, and learning how to automate your website is a part of that!
